Coach Marioand his wife Sheila are long time residents of the Conejo Valley and currently reside in Westlake Village along with daughters (Jordan and Isabel) and their son Isaiah. Coach Mario graduated from Thousand Oaks High School in 1996 and then went on to receive an Engineering Degree from ITT Technical Institute in Oxnard, CA. He started his career in Residential Real Estate in 2003 and has been on the Residential Lending (Home Loans) side of the business since 2011 as a Loan Officer.

Coach Mario first started playing basketball as a 12 year old at Redwood Middle School. He is a fan of all things basketball and loves watching college and NBA Basketball. He began coaching youth basketball in 2007 as a volunteer coach for his son's team at the Boys and Girls Club. He soon realized that he had a passion for teaching kids the fundamentals of the game of basketball. After 3 years at the BAGC he teamed up with long time friend and Hard Work Basketball founder-Coach Mike Farmer. Over the last few years, he has coached and won at some of the biggest and most competitive AAU tournaments in the Nation - such as the West Coast Nationals in Las Vegas, Jam On It's Memorial Day tournament in Reno and the Adidas Tournament of Champions in Portland, Ore. Coach Mario's patience with the kids and love for teaching is extremely well received and is an important asset which helps separate Hard Work Basketball from other basketball programs.
